This bank holiday weekend let’s look back 25+ years to when ‘social’ meant meeting up on a sunny bank holiday weekend at the marina and having a good get together with your friends for drinks, cocktails and a dance.
Before Tapasya Marina there was Tropical Knights, which thrived alongside other iconic 90’s marina spots like Pepi’s. But most notable of all were the bank holidays!
Some great quotes from Facebook about the bank holiday days are;
“What a fantastic place Hull was for a night out back then. Bank Holidays were brilliant.” by Angie Gray , “Bank Holidays were the best times to be there, wouldn’t you agree Mark Walker & Chris Robertson fancy a dip in marina” by Adam Cole and helly Nelson said “Miss bank holidays on Marina”

The bar featured a distinctive tropical island aesthetic and was highly popular for it’s cocktail bar and vibrant dance floor. It officially closed it’s doors in 2004.
We took over the venue in 2016 with extensive renovations and transformed the space into a fine dining Indian restaurant. Here are a few photos from when the renovations took place, you can see the Tropical Knights elements still present.
We still pay homage to the essence of Tropical Knights bar with some of our signature cocktails, all ideal for a sunny long bank holiday Monday, why not try BLUE HAWAII (pineapple juice, lemon, vodka, rum and blue curacao) and TAPASYA GARDEN (cocktail made of gin, elderflower and cucumber syrup, fresh mint and lime, topped with apple juice and lemonade).
Celebrate with us this weekend Friday, Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday, with some great Indian food, refreshing cocktails and inspired whiskeys or desserts.
